Well, - this is now working again in unity 4.12.0-0ubuntu1 So either this is an unintended happening that will be reverted or there was a change of heart here The other possibility is some confusion of terms, ect. This bug & similar I've filed in 11.10 & 11.04 when it broke for a while are the 'spread' - left click on launcher icon using 'scale' - window picker for window group
