I noticed you reported in bug 656486 that you no longer see the driver
warning messages with the latest Oneiric Beta-1 release. That would
seem to confirm that the driver warning and the persistence issue are
indeed unrelated and I would agree with your statement above that this
does not appear to be a kernel issue. I'm therefore going to close the
linux task. Thanks.
