I was able to fix this by upgrading to Ubuntu 11.04, and then I running:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-audio-dev/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install linux-alsa-driver-modules-$(uname -r)
** Changed in: alsa-driver (Ubuntu)
Status: Expired => Fix Committed
