Public bug reported:
The internal USB1.1 ports of the machine do not work reliably with a
Fujitsu fi5120 scanner and a Logitech headset.
Ubuntu 7.04
uname -a: Linux klato2 2.6.20-15-386 #2 Sun Apr 15 07:34:00 UTC 2007 i686
GNU/Linux
when run on internal USB1.1 port:
SANE_DEBUG_SANEI_USB=10 scanimage > /dev/null
[lots of regular debug output deleted]
sanei_usb] sanei_usb_write_bulk: trying to write 31 bytes
[sanei_usb] sanei_usb_write_bulk: wanted 31 bytes, wrote 31 bytes
[sanei_usb] sanei_usb_read_bulk: trying to read 65076 bytes
[sanei_usb] sanei_usb_read_bulk: read failed: Resource temporarily unavailable
USB error: could not clear/halt ep 129: Connection timed out
scanimage: sane_read: Error during device I/O
[sanei_usb] sanei_usb_close: closing device 0
... several seconds pass, before scanimage terminates
The scanner works better when connected to a USB2.0 PCMCIA card
No "interesting" information dmesg (see attachment, which I hopefully
will not forget...)
Scanning works fine, if the same scanner is connected to a PCMCIA/USB2.0
adapter
