Public bug reported:

it is impossible to stop the amplification by using plain keys

so if want to use the amplified volume of my laptop i have to open a
window and choose to increase the volume

which makes the shortcut on the keyboard meaningless..

you need to display a warning instead of forcing people to open a window
for that
