Public bug reported:

When I plug under dapper kubuntu with kde 3.5.3, an usb hd with one
partition in ext3 and one in ntfs, I can open the ntfs partition. The
directory create by hal/udev does have only root permission. This
problem doesn exist for the ext3 partition or when Iḿ using gnome
instead kde.

drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 2006-04-06 20:29 usbdisk #ext3 partition
dr-x------ 1 root root 8192 2006-08-17 19:22 usbdisk-1 #ntfs partition

** Affects: udev (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Untriaged
         Status: Unconfirmed
