Public bug reported:

Admittedly minor, but the lightdm greeter just shows an empty white area
of text for entering a password during login (on both my laptop and in
guest VMs), so it isn't clear to the user that the password area is
focused, ie ready to accept a password. Feedback *is* given as the user
types characters in, but the lack of flashing cursor is a regression
compared to gdm-greeter.
