Evince 0.6.0 (poppler 0.5.4) does this too. In my case, it spams stdout with:
some font thing failed
Error: could not create truetype face
repeatedly, until the PDF file is rendered. Reloading (C-r) produces more of
these messages and more files in /tmp.
Evince does not delete the temporary files.
