I just checked again, here it works. the only difference is that I have
the /usr/local/rsi/lib path at the end of LD_LIBRARY_PATH. i don't think
that this makes a difference.
My relevant parts are

Tech Tip #4177 mentiones some other cause (Mesa3D related) for the
segfault, maybe you should follow the workaround steps for this case
(disabling some gl driver by renaming it)?
