Public bug reported:

Oneiric regression.

Since upgrade Natty -> Oneiric beta, both Gnome (Unity) and KDE
environments have stopped showing the battery icon. If manually started,
KDE power management says the system has "no battery" while Gnome system
parameters don't show anything letting think the system has a battery.

Battery status report was perfect in Natty, both with KDE and Gnome.

Furthermore, after TODAY's updates, another machine, Acer Aspire
3104WLMi lost its battery icon in Gnome, where it was OK with Oneiric
beta before latest updates.
