Thanks for reporting this bug and any supporting documentation.
It seems that this affects not only indicators but also the appmenu but not
Eclipse, for example, whose menu isn't exported over dbus so its a dbusmenu
problem.
Affects shortcuts and media keys alike.
** Package changed: ubuntu => libdbusmenu (Ubuntu)
** Changed in: libdbusmenu (Ubuntu)
Status: New => Confirmed
** Tags removed: bug interface memenu ubuntu
** Tags added: oneiric
** Also affects: dbusmenu
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
** Summary changed:
- [All Versions]If MeMenu is opened, the special buttons combinations won't
work.
+ [All Versions] Can't use hotkeys in menus and indicators
** Description changed:
- If you open from the top-right a menu, be it the new MeMenu or what was
before 11.10, doesn't matter, it's the same bug for all of them.
- For example, you open Connections menu(Network) and leave it open, then try
to press Ctrl + Alt + L or Ctrl + Alt + Delete, any hot key combination while
it's opened, it won't work.
- I think that it "hooks" the keys pressed so you can navigate through it but
it doesn't know about the hot-keys...
+ When a appmenu item is open or an indicator, its impossible to use user
+ shortcuts like Ctrl+Alt+L to logout, or app defined shortcuts like
+ Ctrl+O to open a file or even media keys.
