Binary package hint: ppp
Whether I use the modem via Admin -> Network or wvdial, the modem
disconnects when anything begins to download -- synaptic, firefox, etc.
I tried it with various settings and the very same settings that worked in
Edgy and Dapper on this very same computer. It is not the network
connection because I can boot to edgy or dapper on the same line
with the same type of modem and it works.
The message is "The ppp daemon has died..."
