Public bug reported:
Gigabyte 8S661FXMP-RZ (Socket 478 P4 board with SiS661FX and SiS 964
Chipsets) fails to reboot after a reboot is issued using the Ctrl-Alt-
Del hook, invoked via "sudo reboot" or after Alt-SysRq-B is issued
(reboot). The machine appears to go through halting processes fine then
shows "* Will now reboot" then "[17180310.340000] Restarting system."
(timestamp changes of course).
Invoking "halt" shuts the machine down and powers it off correctly.
System is running Dapper (6.06.1) installed as a server.
Tried passing the following to the kernel (in various combinations and
separately):
acpi=off
noapic
pci=routeirq
nosplash (always last and removed 'splash')
Tried the -23-386, -26-386, -26-686 and -26-server kernels to no avail.
