They are always seen above the indicator area & when exposing the global menu
of any app appears above it also
Saw on a beta1 installl after upgrade of unity-2d on 09/09, currently on live
session from 09/10 daily, same thing
Attaching screen, should be visible
(nvidia hardware, using nouveau on live session, nvidia-current on beta1 install
