Dan, thanks for your report. There are a lot of comments on the page you
linked, so it is difficult to tell what the problem actually is. It looks like
that page is telling users to use the Sun JDK (Tomcat probably requires a JDK,
not just the JRE), but it is also telling users to get an older version of
Tomcat directly from the Sun website. A new version of Tomcat is being shipped
with Oneiric - 6.0.32.
Are the issues you were having still present with this version, and does it
work using OpenJDK? If not, please elaborate on what the problem is. Thanks in
advance.
