Jipson, the file is probably damaged, try:
sudo dpkg --clear-avail && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade

This command will clear the file and update your sources before upgrading (as 
they might be corrupt too).
If you keep getting random errors like this, please consider running memtest 
(available on grub when booting, if you don't see grub press shift while 
booting) to check your RAM for problems.
If its not a RAM problem, please add the requested information in #1 plus any 
relevant log files/files mentioned in errors if suitable so we can sort this 
out.
