Strange - this has never happened to me on OS X. More than that my sister uses her iBook exclusively with OS X and she never once had such a problem during 3 years of usage. I do believe that the driver can be made to adapt or overcome the problem when it shows up. As the appletouch page states, our driver is not doing it perfectly - I can only assume it can be improved to be as good as the OS X one.
