In the current dmesg output, "FDC 0 is a National Semiconductor PC87306" is followed by the Real Time Clock driver and the IBM TrackPoint driver. The failing boots would freeze after "FDC 0" but it's of course entirely possible that some drivers are loaded in a slightly different order.
I have a dmesg file from the Edgy kernel which I couldn't get to boot reliably; my memory must be playing tricks with me because I was under the impression that I could no longer get that to work either. I'll attach that as well. The timer would be at some 38 seconds at the freeze whereas this one goes all the way up to almost 90 so it's not a freeze. ** Attachment added: "dmesg from working 2.6.17-11 (!?)" http://librarian.launchpad.net/7561026/dmesg.4 -- Thinkpad 600x hangs during boot with default kernel https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/112569 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
