Also take care about the correct use of spaces. There must be a space
between the command and its arguments, and no spaces between '/' and the
componants of a file path:

WRONG:    ls-l / proc / sys / dev / parport / parport * / *
CORRECT:  ls -l /proc/sys/dev/parport/parport*/*
