For me clicking in the application chrome (the current tab on the tab bar, another tab, the URL bar, …) works too. If Flash is maximized, Esc will usually exit full screen, or else any mouse move brings up a Flash toolbar near the bottom, which includes a widget with four arrows pointing inwards, to exit full screen mode by clicking it.
