i'm using the latest genuine oneiric kernel-pae, and get the same issue
with the desktop fan; so i'm not sure to blame the kernel itself with
its dedicated module, but maybe lm-sensors as described on top report:
" so i've tried to tweak /etc/sensors3.conf to set div= 64 with lower
value, but " set fan5_div 4 " for example is no more recognised by
actual lm-sensors 1:3.3.0-4ubuntu1. all the tests with other
values/naming variants fails, the manpage dont help about that. "
so what is required is : updated settings to force that fan to go
faster, some kind of custom settings over writing the kernel default
module setting.
