Incidentally, this bug should probably be marked as a duplicate of 680444 (or vis-a-versa) ASSUMING that we can get 680444 switched back from Fixed to an active status. I think one reason that it's been so hard to get traction on this is that so many versions of the bug reports keep getting marked as fixed, when they aren't. When that happens, they aren't easily searchable, and get ignored by devs looking for something to do.
