Yes, the term.log is from the same computer.  I finished the install, 
and added several recommended packages as recommended by the synaptic 
package manager.  I found 3 occurrences of the man-db:

Processing triggers for man-db ...  all 3 are like the one in this line.

I used gedit to find them.  If I was in text mode, I would have used:  
grep -i "man-db" term.log

I can use the 'man' command from the command line.  I'm guessing that 
the error was fixed by a reboot.
