I don't think this is a duplicate of 837545. That bug is about layout
and this one is about being taken to a different workspace.
What fixes the problem for me is reducing the curve strength (I have the
expo appearance set to curve instead of tile or none). A higher curve
strength increases the chance that I'll be taken back to the workspace
below the default one.
