Public bug reported: Hello,
I am trying to boot the debian-installer in the Amazon EC2, as described at the following URL: http://charles.plessy.org/Debian/debi%C3%A2neries/nuage/ I prepared an AMI that contains the initrd.gz and vmlinuz files downloaded at the following URL (September 11 build). http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/oneiric/main/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/xen/ It boots PV-Grub with the aki-ec5df7ed kernel, and then starts Debian- Installer via a /boot/grub/menu.lst file. Unfortunately the configuration of the network fails with the following error. ┌─────────────────────┤ [!] Configure the network ├─────────────────────┐ │ │ │ No network interfaces detected │ │ No network interfaces were found. The installation system was unable │ │ to find a network device. │ │ │ │ You may need to load a specific module for your network card, if you │ │ have one. For this, go back to the network hardware detection step. │ │ │ │ <Go Back> <Continue> │ │ │ └───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘ Using the same approach with Debian Squeeze's installer, the network can be autoconfigured successfully (via preseeding).
