I submitted this bug when testing the beta of Ubuntu 10.10. With the final
release the bug disappeared (although activating KDE's desktop effects made the
desktop *extremely* slow).
I do not use Ubuntu any more since November 2010, so I unfortunately cannot
provide any further information (I think the problem with desktop effects in
intel cards was fixed with KDE 4.6).
