Public bug reported:

I have a set up with a laptop and an external monitor. When I want to
move with my laptop, I can either (a) simply unplug my monitor, or (b)
go to the display manager and explicitly turn off the external monitor.

In the case of (a), the laptop screen doesn't readjust or realise that
the other screen is gone.

In the case of (b), the laptop screen goes black.

In either case, I am left with a non-functioning laptop. This is in an
up to date (as of 20 Sept) Oneiric beta.

** Affects: unity (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
