@Stephane That doesn't add up, the spurious change events were addressed in multipath-tools as of 0.4.8-14ubuntu10.1, the version you're quoted doesn't include the "ubuntu revision" so I don't know what version you're actually running. That work around is no longer necessary. It sounds you haven't updated your system yet. Please apt-get upgrade and restore the udev rule to confirm. Thanks.
