openscenegraph provides 83 binaries, none of which appear to be a
primary application, but rather utilities for use by developers using
libopenscenegraph-dev.  Those I tested all required arguments to execute
properly.  No .desktop file is required.

More generally, a .desktop file should only be provided for a package that 
meets the following criteria:
1)  A primary application is provided that a user will wish to execute from the 
menu
2)  Such application is typically invoked with the same arguments each time, 
for all users
3)  Such application has a GUI interface, and would not typically be used from 
a command line.
