Well, from the information Apport provided I don't see a clear reason why
gpk-prefs crashed - could you maybe describe what you did to make it crash?
Also, GPK on Maverick Meerkst is _very_ old - the package was names
"packagekit-gnome" there (a wrong name... :P). At time we have a GTK+3 version.
Usually I would ask you to test this version, but on Maverick this won't work
so easily.
So, if you can, please compile GNOME-PackageKit 2.32 and check if the error
exists there too.
