To ensure my network infrastructure is not to blaim, I retested with the
same machine but with 11.04. As expected, everything worked.

ip route list (on 11.04, after plugged in the wired network):
192.168.0.0/24 dev eth0  proto kernel  scope link  src 192.168.0.101  metric 1 
192.168.0.0/24 dev wlan0  proto kernel  scope link  src 192.168.0.100  metric 2 
169.254.0.0/16 dev wlan0  scope link  metric 1000 
default via 192.168.0.1 dev eth0  proto static
