Public bug reported:
For those of us who have to disable pulseaudio (and there are quite a few) this
just became impossible to do.
Usually I edit /etc/pulse/client.conf to set "# autospawn=yes" to
"autospawn=no" and then stop the daemon by killall pulseaudio on startup.
Well, I can stop pulseaudio, but there appears to be no alsa underneath any
more. Alsamixer does not work, for example.
This is very frustrating because I must use alsa and must not use pulseaudio.
User-configurable options have also been removed in the drop-down menu.
If there is some magic configuration to restore alsa that I am unaware of, this
should be made available, because so many depend on alsa for day-to-day use.
