Something else that I just noticed; I had two documents open over the past night, I created both about the same time around 11pm according to the file's modified timestamp. One had about 3 pages of text, the other had three words.
Today at 1:22, the first and larger document exhibited the usual choppy scrolling behavior and the other did not. I closed the first document before I came across this observation. I'll try to keep notes here on what I'm noticing, perhaps there will be some nugget of useful information.
