Public bug reported:

the sound works fine if volume is below 40 %, but on increasing volume,
it automatically muted.

For example, if i'm watching a move, on some action scene it got muted
then need to manually unmute it from top right corner of unity.

Not only this if i open sound-properties and test speaker, same problem
arises.

Everywhere (alsamixer, pavucontrol, sound properties) sound showed mute
at high volume, but same is working fine in Windows XP, so this is not a
hardware issue.
