I'm appalled that this bug is still present in the Ubuntu 11.10 beta 2. ERASING EXISTING OSes' BOOT LOADERS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!!! Since many (perhaps most) new computers shipping today are UEFI-based, this bug is rapidly increasing in importance. PLEASE fix it before 11.10 goes final!
