I tested the tip in this link to force Unity to start: http://askubuntu.com/questions/37629/geforce-go-7300-7400-blacklisted- can-i-still-run-unity
It did start but the launcher was a mess. I then deactivated nvidia-96 and activated nvidia-173 in stead, and now I have Unity working with Compiz effects. The slowness warned about in the link does not seem any intrusive so far. I might test nvidia-current again but will probably try running like this for a while and monitor the performance. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/741930 Title: [natty] nvidia binary packages for older cards - dependencies not met To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nvidia-drivers-ubuntu/+bug/741930/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
