@Matthew, i agree with implementing the fastest/simplest solution "ASAP"
before Oneric is released, and not wait 6 more months to do such trivial
thing.
in fact this should be a Papercut !
Later , future alternatives can be discussed with more calm and/or
during the next UDS.
