I have been having what seems to be the same issue. I use MAC filtering
and do not broadcast my SSID on my home wireless router. Using xubuntu
6.10 was not a problem, but after reinstalling fresh from the xubuntu
7.04 cd, it initially found the AP and got an IP address during install,
but after a reboot I got a link light from the AP but dhclient failed to
obtain an IP. I tried dropping and bringing up the interface and
multiple DCHP renewals with no success. Only when I turned on ssid
broadcasting again from my AP did it work correctly and obtain an IP.
I'm using a Netgear wireless card on an older HP laptop.
