Running 11.04.
Not sure when this occurred.  My wife had been having a problem with the 
keyboard: the numeric keypad was not recording a character (  YES, the NUM lock 
was on ).   This did NOT happen on my own account.

Flailing about at the problem, I selected autokey and changed from default 
(sysadmin setting) to "ibus."  Logged out and back in.  
The operation appeared to be a success -- the numeric pad was working in her 
account.  Logged out, and back into my own account.  Failure occurred somewhere 
in that sequence.
