Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openoffice.org2

I haven't yet determined whether this is a problem in just ubuntu or
whether it is a bug in OOo generally.

In the attached document, I would like to cut the table and caption and
place it at the end of the document. I don't want to cut the heading
that follows it, but I do want to cut the caption.

I highlight the caption and the table by dragging through the left
margin area.

Then I press ctrl-X.

The heading turns to plaintext -- loses its formatting.

There just doesn't seem to be a way around this one! I am an advanced
OOo user, I would say. I have used a lot of features for some pretty
large reports, presentations, spreadsheets, etc. So I'm not just being
stupid, I don't think.

About to attach a file...

Cheers
JP
