Public bug reported:
lirc and corresponding tools changed the daemon socket from /dev/lircd
to /var/run/lirc/lircd. Everything expects it there.
inputlirc still opens /dev/lircd.
Workaround: symlink from /var/run/lirc/lircd to /dev/lircd, e.g. in the
init file
