The problem is that the hardy davfs postinst does not test for existence
of /var/run/mount.davfs before trying to change permissions. The
package in lucid does better so I will set this ticket to fix released.
You're invited to nominate for dapper if you feel that the dist-upgrade
from an EOL release to the oldest LTS should still be supported and
warrants an SRU.
