Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xrandr
xrandr 1.2 has been our for several months now and I was surprised to
find that it wasn't in feisty. Can we get this new version for gutsy?
1.2 allows you to up-size your X screen greater than the size it started
with. This is extremely useful for laptop users who start the system on
the local flat panel and plug into a dock later with a larger screen.
Also to keep in mind, xorg-server 1.3 was release earlier this month
(May) and it allows input and output hotplug. It will auto-configure
input devices and displays at runtime without restarting the X server.
That will be a huge improvement for Ubuntu to have.
** Affects: xrandr (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: Unconfirmed
