I don't think this is a good SRU for hardy at this point. Anyone who has run hardy for three years probably has fixed this issue locally or isn't using logcheck. Introducing a conffile change for a bug of this rather low severity isn't a good risk/benefit/upgrade inconvenience ratio at this point IMHO.
