To be sure, I also create a completely new disk for this test.
Interestingly, the installer crashed when it was almost done, but I have
not had any opportunity to investigate that further. However, I figured
the disks had already been partitioned, so I started a live session and
ran sfdisk. The result is listed below (Note I installed on /dev/sdb,
the second drive):

I also attach the definition file for the virtual machine, in case it
helps.
