Without doing anything except letting my computer go go to the "Molecule" screen saver and lockup, then hard restart, I was able to see the Molecule screen saver and change it to something else.
If you are still having this problem maybe try this by letting the machine activate the screen saver itself then hard restart. Then go to the screen saver and change it. Sounds kinda like M$ stuff but it worked for me. Of course it still doesn't solve why this happens in the first place. Rich -- Selecting the Molecule screensaver makes the PC freeze.
