Ok. Closing this bug report as invalid then, since that leaves us
without the ability to grab further information for diagnosing the
problem.
For the other issues you're experiencing, please file new bug reports
against the relevant packages with 'ubuntu-bug $package'.
It sounds like you have some hardware that's a particular challenge with
later releases. We certainly do test before release, and the hardware
issues you describe are not reflective of the typical experience!

This should be reported against the kernel with 'ubuntu-bug linux'.

Best addressed via the 'udev' package.

That's rather unusual, and suggests you may be managing your boot
options in an unsupported way. If you are using grub2 (which is used by
default when installing 10.04 or later), boot options should be managed
via /etc/default/grub. If you are using the older 'grub' package, they
would be managed via /boot/grub/menu.lst - a file which is also managed
automatically by the system, but in case of conflicts you should always
be notified - your changes should never be silently overwritten.

Another driver issue (linux)...
Please also consider trying the Ubuntu 11.10 beta, as many of these
issues stand a chance of having been fixed upstream. Maybe replaced by
new ones of course...
