Hi, I'm trying to get to the bottom of this problem, but I can't
replicate it myself. Could you help me with the following:

 * Indicate whether this always happens, or whether the problem comes
and goes between reboots or perhaps between logging out and logging in?

 * When sound is not working, "aplay -l" returns "no soundcards found".
But does "sudo aplay -l" give the same result, or will sound cards show
up?

 * Some people have reported switching to gdm from LightDM resolves the
problem. Is this helping you as well?

** Changed in: alsa-driver (Ubuntu)
       Status: Confirmed => Incomplete
