All. The update didn't seem to fix the problem. The good news is I have found a
work around for my garbled input (at least for my system)
Go into Skype 'Options' < 'Sound Devices' and deselect 'Allow Skype to
automatically adjust my mixer levels'.
Next go to the 'Sound Settings' and click on the 'Applications tab". From Skype
make a test call. In the applications tab you will see two sliders come up.
Move the top one about a third of the way to the left of the available travel.
You should now have functional call out. It appears the input volume is too
high with the default settings which is causing issues within Skype.
