Ok, sure.
"what do you call "computer section", is that in the sidepane? the sidepane is supposed to list standard directories and drives, not symlinks..." Yes, I meant the sidepane. Since nautilus and several other programs give special significance to the Documents, Pictures, Downloads etc. directories, I decided to link ~/Documents etc. to my other harddrive (which is bigger). Off-topic: A disadvantage I've noted with symlinks though is that they may behave differently with some programs. The most notable one so far is that the commands "mv" and "cp" doesn't seem to understand symlinks, while commands such as "cd" does. With my setup, this gives unexpected results: cd ~/Documents && touch foo && mv foo .. It moves "foo" to /media/500GB instead of to ~. Oh well, I'll cope :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/868272 Title: Nautilus crashes when accessing home folder shortcuts which are symbolic links To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/868272/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
